Me Lyne, on behalf of the Federation Premiers, sent a cable to reach Lord Hopetoun at the farewell banquet, expressing satisfaction at the choice of a Governor-General so eminently fitted for the post, and one so acceptable to Australia, and assuring him a very warm welcome.
