BURNHAM STABBING CASE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.— PEBSS ASSOCIATION). Chiustchurch, Last Night. HENRY CtJNNiNGHAN, the Burnham boy, who stabbed the .Superintendent of the institution on th« 30th August, was brought before the Magistrates' Court to-day. The question of which of the two solicitors Mr Joynt, instructed by the Education Department or Mr Donnelly instructed by the boy was to appear for him was argued and settled by the Magistrate deciding in favour of the latter. Evidence was then called to the effect that accused had rushed at the superintendent and stabbed him immediately ihe latter entered his cell to punish him.
After taking the depositions of several witnesseu for the "Crown, the accused, who reserved Ilia defence, was committed for trial.
