FIRE AT MASTERTON.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION"). Masterton, Sunday. A serious fire occurred hereon Saturday night. The following business premises have been destroyed :J. "Wickens (bakery), W. Dougall (watchmaker), S. E. Stanley (draper), J. (Hilars (confectioner), C. T. Gawitlis (solicitor). The insurances, so far as are kuowu, total £3BBO, and the losses are estimated at £I7OO above that amount, besides the consents of Mr Dougall's safe, amounting to nearly £IOOO worth of watches and jewellery, which were badly damaged, but this loss is.not calculated. The main block was owned by the Perry Estate.
