The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. MESSRS McNICOL AND CO.'S OHAUPO SALE. Ok Tuesday, at Messrs McNicol and Co.'b Yards, over 300 head of caltle were yarded, over fifty of which were dairy cows, some of them of a good qnality, but most of those offered were of an average description. There was a good demand for dairy stock, and, with few exceptions, they were all sold under the hammer. Young stock were aho in demand, and sold freely. Several pens of three-year-old steers were passed uuder the hammer, the reserves being beyond market value, but they were all afterwards disposed of privately. There was a good attendance of the public and the sale was a fairly brisk one. The following were the prices :—Dairy cows, average to good quality, from £5 to £6 7s ; average cows, from £4 to £5 ; backward springers, £3 10s to £1 : a pen ot springing heifers, £3 18s ; two-year-old steers, from £2 16s to £2 19s, good demand ; well-bred yearling steer?, in good condition, from 35s to 37s ; yearlings (mixed sexes) from 27s to 32s ; three-year-old steers, well-bred, £4 3s ; empty cows, from £2 4s to £2 lis ; small fat cows, not too well done, £3 6s to £3 13s.—(Own Correspondent).
