AUCKLAND MARKETS.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report:—Auckland Wool Stores, June 29.—The catalogue at our weekly salo on Tuesday was a large one. Hides: The market is slightly weaker. We sold heavy stout ox, 3£d to sjjd lb ; medium ox, 4d to 4£d ; light ox, 3|d to 3|d ; cow hides, 3£d to 3§d ; picked, up to 3sd; scored and damaged, $d less. SheepBkins : Large, 3s 3d to 4s each ; small »nd medium, 2s 3d to 3s. Tallow: Medium rendered, 14s 9d to 15s 9d cwt. i Horsehair is worth Is to Is 2d lb. Cowhair is worth 8d to 9d lb. Bones in good demand, and worth £3 15s ton. Oats: The market is extremely quiet, and buyers will only purchase when concessions are made, all having good stocks. Southern reports indicate that lately ruling prioesftre likely to be maintained. Maize : Y : ejsisewy shipments arriving on the 'top 1 of, the large stocks held here, the market has fallen considerably, and a great deal of this week's arrivals will have to go to store, not finding purchasers. Present price for old maize is nominally 2s 8d bushel on wharf. Chaff: The market is weak, and chaff is being offered at £4 to £4 5s ton at rail.

Messrs Außrn Buckland and Sons' Weekly Repobt.—At the Haymarket, meadow hay has brought from 4s 3d to 4s 9d cwt, pressed ss; straw, 18s to 25s load; chaff, £4 10s ton ; carrots, £1 13s ; pressed straw, £3 ; bran, £4 15s; maize, 3s bushel; oats, 2s lOd to 3s; maize on wharf, 28 9d. On Friday horse stock were dull of sale. Prices for useful waggon horses were from £l2 to £l6; a buggy, £lO 10. J; harness, £2 10a. On Tuesday, hides in usual supply scarcely kept last week's values. Ox hides were from 3§d to 4fd ; cowhides, 2|d to 3sd; kip, 3£d ; calfskins, 3d to 3|d ; fat, 1-J-d ; horsehair, Is Id lb ; tails, Is 3d doz; tallow, 12s 9d to 15s cwt; butchers' pelts, 2s 9d to 3s lid each; country pelts, 7d to 2s lOd. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle fairly represented, were dull of sale, and some passed; those at profit were from £4 to £6 each, S.tpre cattle in average supply, were at late values. Fat and young calves, in full number, were required, and sold freely ; prices ranged from 20s to £1 18s each; 80sold. Fat cattle yarded numerously, but many of secondary quality; prices ranged from 15s to 18s, but the greater number were at 17s 1001 b. Few cows yarded ; 266 sold; Prices for steers were from £5 5s to £8 10s; cows. £3 10s to £5 ss. Fat sheep in less than usual number ; 1200 sold; advanced in price about Is each over last week's quotations. Pigs fully represented ; 84 sold ; were better worth than at last week's sale. Messes Hunter awd Nolan's Report.— -Horsefeed, seed, grain, etc. : A steady demand has prevailed and sufficient lias been brought forward. We quote j—New maize, on wharf, 2s 8d to 2s 9d bushel, ex store 33; feed oats, 2s 10s to iU ; seed oats, 33 to 3s 3d ; chaff, £4 to £4 15s ton ; bran, £4 15s to £5. Horses : At the Durham Yards on Friday, horses were not yarded as numerously as usual, and mostly of a light description, and prices remain low. Heavy draughts sold from £l2 10s to £2l each ; medium do.. £9 to £l4 ; light harness d 0.," £3 to £l3 5s ; Ballyhooley made 14 guineas. Wool, hides, skins and tallow : A large catalogne was gone through, but hides were slightly easier. Cattle : There was again a good muster at the Junction Yards on Tuesday, and last week's rates were maintained. We quote :—Ox beef, fiquii 16s to 18s 1001 b ; cow, ]4s to 10s. Steers ranged from £4 15s to £7 17s 6d each ; fat cows, £3 17a 6d to £5 10s ; dairy cows, £3 15s to £6 ; store cows, £1 10s to £2 5s ; yearlings and calves, 14s to 255. Sheep were penned in large numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday, and, except for the very best quality, showed no improvement on last week's prices. Wethers sold at from 8s 3d to 14s 9d each ; ewes, 10s 9d to 13s ; Btore ewes, 3s to 7s ; fat lambs, 5s 3d to 7s 9d ; store wethers, 7s to 8s 9d.
