With regard to Messrs Crosher and Son's offer to light nine are lamps in the city with electric light, the City Council decided uot to entertain the offer at present. CHILD MURDER. Mrs Amy Stewart, the woman committed for trial for the murder of her child at Kaikohe, was brought up to-day from Russell by the Clansman aud taken to Mount Eden Gaol. LATE MR MoALISTRR. Before Mr Justice Counolly commenced uhc business of the Supreme Court this morning he referred very feelingly to the unfortunate death of Mr J. P. MoAiister. who had at one time acted as his private secretary.
