RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

HARBOUR BOARD MEETING. A MEETING of the Harbour Board Committee of the Raglan County Council took place on April 2nd. Present: Chairman (Cr. Mathias), Cre. Rapkart, Lascclles and Hewett. Aerears ok Rent. Mr Langley waited upon the committee re arrears of rent due on Harbour Board sections. —After explanation by Mr Langley, it was resolved that the Council will accept Mr Langley's offer of £45 for rent due on Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14, to be paid on or before April 15th, IS'JB, in full payment of all demands up to date.

Valuation or Sections. —The Clerk reported that the value of the improvements upon Sections the Council have entered upon in the Harbour Board Reserve are as follows :---Sections 4 and 10, Gilmour, £3; Sections 6 and 9, Frissel, £1 10s ; Sections 7 and 8, Donaldson, £2 10s. Liask of Sections.—lt was resolved to offer each of the above sections on lease for fourteen years, thj value of improvements to be paid with first year's rent.—lt was resolved that a condition as follows be added to lease: —Transfer of interest not to be made without consent of lessor.—The Chairman proposed, seconded by Cr. Lascelles, that the discussion on Harbour Board leases be adjourned.—Carried.—Cr. Baukart proposed, no seconder, that tenders be called for the leases.

Oed Wharf Shed.—The clerk was instructed to offer the shed on the old wharf at £2 10s per annum, and failing an offer the shed to be closed up after April 15th

MEETING OF "WORKS COMMITTEE. The Council then sat as a Works Com mittue.

Scrvey Fees.—lt was resolved that not more than 50 per cent, of the cost of the surveys be paid, previous to the approval of the plans by the Chief Surveyor. Furze Inspector.—Mr Lingley interviewed the Committee re Furze Inspector. It was suggested that he bring the matter before the Dext meeting of the Council.

Tenders.—The following tenders were received and dealt with : —No. 49 Kahuhura Bridge removal : Coites, £52; Carton, £59 ; Johnstone Bros , £52 ; C. CoateS)' tt licit r for £52 was accepted. No. 50—Waingaro shed removal : Charlton, £2O 9s (accepted). No. 51— Road works near H. Matthew's, Waingaro-Waitctuna road : Johnstone Bros., £2O 17s ; Saunders, £2B 15s ; Johnstone Bros.' tender was accepted, specifications subject to the approval of Mr Hursthousc, Government Road Surveyor. No. 52—Formation and gravelling near Sutherland's, Te Uku : Johnstone Bros., £46 10s ; Saunders, £4O 16s ; Wilson and Armstrong, £36 12s; Wilson and Armstrong's tender was accepted, subject to specifications meeting the approval of Mr Huisthouse. No.s3,deviation atTo Uku school: Johnstone Bros., £6S 9s 6d ; Wilson and Armstrong, £3O ; Collin 3 and Nicholson, £49 18s 6d. Wilson and Armstrong's tender was accepted. No. 54, road work at Te Mata : Collins and Nicholson, £4 18s fid ; G. Pegler, £4 10s ; Logan, £i 19s ; R, LaTrobc, £4 ; T. Kendall, £S 4s 9d ; Bregmen, £4 0s 3d. R. LaTrobe's tender was accepted. RESIGNATION.—Cr. Lascelles handed in his resignation, and in doing so stated he did so with regret, but that he had sold his property and was leaving the district. The election for the Karioi Riding will take place on April 25th, nominatiouo to be in on the 18th April.— (Own Correspondent).
