BOY SINGERS.

RONGOTAI COLLEGE CHOIR. AUDITORS IN MASTERTON CHARMED. AU Masterton people who have had the privilege during the week-end of hearing the singing of the Rongotai College Choir have been stirred to admiration and delight. At last evening’s service in Knox Churcji, the Rongotai boys took the place of the Church Choir and 1 sang ; descants to all the hymns. They also sang several psalms, two anthems 1 — one “The Lord is My Shepherd”— and processional and recessional hymns on entering and leaving the church. At all times the singing of the boy choristers was remarkable for its purity, and richness of tone and fine expression.* Bearing in mind that one of the elders of the church, Mr. G. Masters, took a leading part in arranging billets for their choir when . it. visited Masterton three years ago, the boys, after the service last evening, paid a visit to Mr. Masters’s home. Assembled there on the lawn, they sang a number of items ror the benefit of Miss Masters, who is convalescing .after an illness. There was a large attendance at Solway College _on Saturday evening when the choir gave a splendid concert, which included part and unison singing, mostly of classical numbers, Under the baton of Mr. J. MeCaw. The audience thoroughly appreciated the beautiful singing of the boys and warmly applauded them. Several Masterton artists also contributed vocal und instrumental items.
