COMMONWEALTH NAVAL BOARD,

Vice-Admiral Ragnar Colvin, has been appointed first member of the Commonwealth Naval Board, and sails by the Orontes on September 25. (Vice-Admiral Ragnar Musgrave Colvin entered the Navy in 1896 and became a captain in 1917 and rearadmiral in 1929, being promoted viceadmiral three years ago. He served with the Grand Fleet at Jutland, was Assistant-Director of the plans division of tie Naval Staff in 1918-19, was in the Mediterranean and Black Sea in 1919-21, and was Chief of Staff of the Home Fleet in 1930-32. For a period he was naval attache at the British Embassy in Tokio. In 1932-33 he was rear-admiral with the 2nd Battle Squadron, and in 1934 was appointed to the command of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich.)
