MASTERTON RACES.
NEXT WEEK’S FIXTURE AT OPAKI. GOOD SPORT PROMISED. Keen interest is being taken in the Masterton Racing Club’s annual meeting, to be held at Opaki next Friday and Saturday. With prospects of fields of a useful size parading in the various events, indications point to the club experiencing a most successful meeting. The course and appointments are in first-class order and keen and exciting racing should be witnessed. The principal event on the first day will be the Masterton Handicap, 1 mile, for which good performers have been nominated. The first race will start at 12.5 p.m. and a convenient bus and car service will convey patrons to the course. There will be the single pool betting system and the running of each event will be broadcast through loud speakers. The Stewards of the club are making every effort to ensure the success of the meeting and look to the members and the public to supplement their efforts by attending in large numbers.
