ROAD SURFACES.
EXPERIMENTS IN BRITAIN, i (Received Tuesday, 11.15 p.m.) < RUGBY, October 5. More than 60 experiments have been begun by the Ministry of Transport with the object of finding the best materials for the construction and .surface treatment of roads. These experiments relate to the determination of the best colour for road surfaces from the point of view of night driving to durability and various forms of top dressings and the problem of skidding.-—(British Official Wireless).
