RUSSIAN? COMPOSERS’ WORKS. A most on joyable evening, devoted: to Russian music, was held at the residence of "Miss O. Fish, Renal!’ Street, on Wednesday by the Masterton branch of - the British Mosic Society. Mrs. Miller Hope gave a particularly interesting and instructive lecturette,. dealing with several aspects of Russian music, the works of five of the compoeers referred to being illustrated ia the programme of the evening. Mr. H. B. Massey expressed thanks to Min Fish for the use of her residence and Mr. R. G. Gilbert thanked the performers, especially Mrs. Miller Hope, who, in reply, expressed her gratitude to the performers for contributing items in illustration of her address. Those who contributed items were Mesdames Miller Hope, Bennett, Moss, Misses Shelton, Sumpter, Armstrong, Holmwood and" Messrs McConnell, H. B. Massey, WiEiam C. Mann, R. G. Gilbert and Candy.
