GREAT BARRIER REEF.
ZANE GREY AFTER MONSTER SHARKS. PLANS FOR DEEP FISHING WITH STEEL CABLES. (Received Thursday, 10.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 30. Mr. Zane Grey, who returned to-day from the Great Barrier Reef, declared that the finest fishing in the world is obtainable along the Australian coast. He intends to return to Australia in 1938, when he will go after monster white sharks. He stated that sharks up to forty feet long had been seen in Australian waters. “I am confident," he said, “there are sharks from 80 to 100 feet. When I return I shall have the use of steel cables and chains, and bait with sharks of 10 to 15 feet in 2,500 fathoms of water outside the Barrier Reef, which is a place of marvellous potentialities."
