HOCKEY TOURISTS.
VISIT OF FIJIAN LADIES’ TEAM. ARRIVAL NEXT MONDAY. The Fijian ladies’ hockey team, which is touring New Zealand, is due to arrive in Masterton on Monday next by the 2 p.m. train. The team will be met by the president and officials of the Wairarapa Hockey Association and will then proceed to its billets. At 8 p.m. a reception will be extended by the Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan, in the Masonic Hall, where a dance will be held. On Tuesday the team will practice on the Lansdowne grounds and at 1 p.m. will leave on a motor drive, during which visits will be paid to many places of interest in the town and district. In the evening the visitors will be the guests of the management of the Regent Theatre. On Wednesday afternoon the match with Wairarapa will be played at the Memorial Park and in the evening the visitors will be guests at the Charity Ball. They will leave the next morning by the early morning train for Wellington.
