CRICKET TEST DRAWN.
INDIANS MAKE GOOD STAND IN SECOND STRIKE. OPENING BATSMEN SECURE CENTURIES. LONDON, July 28. The second cricket Test at Manchester between All-India and England was drawn. The visitors batted throughout the final day and had made 390 runs for five wickets when stumps were drawn. The weather was showery, and the start was delayed for half an hour. Mustaqali was cleverly dismissed after a splendid innings which included seventeen boundaries and in which there were no chances. Merchant’s invaluable innings was terminated when he stopped a yorker on his pads. He hit thirteen 4’s and scored all round the wicket. Ramaswami batted dourly. Amar Singh hit out vigorously, reaching 42 in 25 minutes. Bad light caused play to end at 4.30 p.m. Details:— INDIA. First innings .. 203 Second Innings.
