UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT.
MR. A. C. A. SEXTON, M.P. BREAKS LEG. WELLINGTON, July 29. Mr. A. C. A. Sexton, Country Party member for Franklin, met with an accident in Wellington this morning. When walking down Bowen Street on his way to Parliament Buildings, Mr. Sexton slipped on the pavement and broke his leg, also injuring the hip of his amputated leg. First aid was rendered by the Postmaster-General (the Hon. F. Jones) and Mr. C. H. Burnett, member for Tauranga, who were also walking down Bowen Street. An ambulance was called and Mr. Sexton, who was suffering a great deal, was taken to hospital. Mr. Sexton had a leg amputated as the result of injuries in the Great War.—(P.A.)
