A DISTINGUISHED CLERIC
DR. GRAHAM-BROWN VISITING MASTERTON. To-day Masterton welcomes a distinguished visitor _in the person of the Right Reverend (3. F. Graham-Brown, D.D., 0.8. E., Bishop in Jerusalem. After a distinguished career at Oxford the future Bishop was appointed tn the staff of that University until on account of his gifts of leadership he was appointed some four years ago to Jerusalem at a particularly difficult period in Palestine. The Bishop ba* won the confidence of all sections of the community in the Holy Land and is in the front rank of modern leaders. So that all may have an opportunity to meet the Bishop personally a gathering open to all has been arra*g4 ed for this afternoon in the Parish Hall at 2.45 pm. when the Bishop win be chief gnest and speaker. To-night the Bishop will preach at a service in St. Matthew’s Church at 7.30 p.m. The clergy of all the parishes of the Wairarapa will be joining in this great service. It is only once in a lifetime that the majority of people have an opportunity of hearing the Bishop for •Jerusalem, and Masterton is fortunate in receiving this visit. Dr. Graham-Brown is to address th* Masterton Rotary Club at its luneheoa meeting to-day.
