JAPANESE SHIPPING.
AN IMPROVEMENT SCHEME. SUBSIDY ON DEVELOPMENT. (Received Sunday, 6.30 p.m.) TOKIO, July 25. The Government is drawing up a plan to improve Japanese shipping at an estimated cost of £600,000 a year. It includes a subsidy for tramp shipping, the development of new routes and the construction of freighters with a speed of twenty knote for defence and commercial purposes.
