WOOL SUBSTITUTE.
PROPAGANDA IN JAPAN. AMBITIOUS PROPOSALS FOR EXPANSION. (Received Sunday, 6.30 p.m.) TOKIO, July 25. The latest propaganda for a wool substitute is a staple fibre exhibition covering a large floor area in Tokio’s biggest department store, M'itsukoshi. It shows the complete process from sedar logs to a multitude of textiles for apparel and furnishings. The exhibitor, the Nitto Spinning Company, produces thirty tons of staple fibre daily. It is negotiating for a ten million yen plant to double its output a year henee.
