CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We held a sale yesterday on behalf of Mr. B. E. Clarke, Carrington. In spite of a very boisterous day there was a fair attendance and bidding was good for the best of the cows. The herd was in good order, but the fact that many of the cows were late calvers brought the average down somewhat. The top price paid for cows was £l2, and the average price was £7. Practically all the cows were purchased by local farmers. Heifers sold well and yearling heifers met with good competition. The milking machine and plant and also implements were disposed of at satisfactory prices.
