CARTERTON SALE.
WRIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report: We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday. There was a small yarding and a small attendance, due chiefly to the rough weather conditions prevailing. The few cattle yarded sold at par rates, while pigs were much firmer. No sheep were offered. Prices were as follow:— Cattle: Empty cows, 38/6, £2/4/-, £2/15/-, £3/2/6, £3/4/-; fat cows, £4 10/-; spg. heifers, £5/2/6, £6/5/-; spg. cows, £3/2/6, £4/7/6 £6/10/-, £7/12/6; cows in milk, £5/10/-, £7/12/6. Pigs: Wenners, 10/-, 11/-, H/6, 12/6, 13/-; slips, 15/-, 15/6, 17/-, 18/-; porkers, 32/-, 34/-, 34/6, 40/-; baconers, £2 3/-, £2/4/6; sows, to farrow, £2/2/6.
