MANGAWEKA BANK CASE.
ACCUSED RELEASED ON BAIL. ALL MONEY HANDED BACK.
WANGANUI, June 16. Maurice Edward Alexander, bank teller, of Mangaweka, aged 32, who was charged yesterday at Mangaweka with the theft of £7500, the property of the Bank of New Zealand, appeared on remand this morning before the. Magistrate, Mr. Salmon, and was further remanded to appear at .Taihape on June 19. Mr. W. C. Bainbridge ashed for bail, stating that the whole of the money had been handed back by the accused. The police offered no objections and the Magistrate said that under the circumstances he would fix bail at £2OO, with a surety of £2OO, the accused to report daily to the police at Mangaweka, —(P.A.)
