LADIES’ GUILD.
CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY. The annual meeting of the Church of the Epiphany Ladies’ Guild was held in the Epiphany Hall on Tuesday. The Rev. J. E. Jones presided over a fair attendance.
Reviewing the past year’s work, Mrs Whitton stated that all activities undertaken By*'the guild had been particularly successful. The annual garden party, which, through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs H. Evans, was held at Nymphsfield, had realised £32 14s 6d, which was quite satisfactory. The fortnightly card evenings and dances held throughout the - winter months had proved very popular. Mrs Whitton tendered her resignation as president of the guild, a position, she had admirably filled for several years. Her decision was accepted with regret. Mrs H. Evans was elected president for the ensuing year. Miss Ashweli, who had acted as secretary for many years, was unable to continue in that Capacity owing to ill health. Mrs Whitton was elected secretary and treasurer, pro tern. A vote of thanks and appreciation for the services of Mrs Whitton and Miss Ashwell was carried unanimously. It was decided to continue the fortnightly card evenings and dances during the winter months.
