Mrs. Swinburn Kelly, Hawke’s Bay, is staying- with her mother, Airs. D. B. Carrick, Upper Plain. Mrs. D. H. Speedy, Worksop Road, is staying with Mrs. lan Speedy, Flag Creek. Mrs. J. Perry, Alfredton, is visiting her mother, Mrs. W. G. Lamb, Herbert Street. Mib.s A. Wilder, Hawke’s Bay, is the guest of Mrs. Trevor Beetham, Perry Street. Airs. E. Lees, Kawau Island, is staying with her sister, Mrs. H. K. Macintosh, Te Whiti. Mr .and Mrs. J. Cameron, Tinui, are visitors to Wellington.

Mrs. Thompson, Wellington, is visiting Mrs. G. Groves, Bushgrove.

Miss Dulc'ie Warry, of Maryborough, Queensland,- is spending a holiday in Mastertom

Miss Phoebe Graham and Miss Mollie Dickie, who have been the guests of Mrs. J. A. Betts, have left for Hawera.

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. B. Norwood, of Wellington, are making a short stay in Masterton.

A very pleasant time was spent in the Masonic Hall, Carterton, yesterday afternoon when about 60 friends of Mrs. R. Barret (nee Miss M. Rathbone) met to wish her every good luck and prosperity in her future life. Mrs. L. Fairbrother asked Mrs. Barret to accept a beautiful beaten brass combination fire screen on behalf of her many friends. She was also presented with a shoulder spray by Miss nolds. Mrs. Barret everyone for their and kindly especially thanking who had organised, the Mesdames L. Fairbrofher, A. Stubbs, J. Hawken, V. Gustofson, V. Vile, H. B. Keenan, R. N. Campbell, R. Harrington and Miss M. Reynolds. Competitions during the afternoon were won by Mrs. Geo. Riggs and Mrs. S. Neilson. Pianoforte solos were played by Mrs. L>. Fairbrother.
