The meeting proved to be one of the most successful ever held by the club. There were 119 entries altogether and the arrangements were very complete, everything going off without a hitch. The success of the trials was largely due to the splendid work of the committee, the secretary (Mr. C. J. McDonald) and the ladies’ committee, the club wishes to express its thanks to Mr. C. J. Bennett for providing the sheep, to Mr. J. McKay for paddock accommodation, to Mr. George Shaw for the use of his grounds, to the judge, Mr. J. Blair (Wanganui), to the ladies’ committee for attending to the refreshment arrangements and to all who helped in any way. The winner of the sheep weight judging contest was Mr. F. Spoonley, Wangaehu, whose estimate of 13241 b. was correct.
