HOCKEY REFEREES.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —How do the hockey authorities appoint their referees for each week? I think they need a. new system any way. Take next Saturday; we see two well-known coaches set down to referee their own team, on their own too. Now Sir, these gentlemen are good referees and I’m sure unbiased, but why leave them open to criticism? These men could easily be changed over to the satisfaction of both clubs. This is not the first time that this blunder has beeq made this season and I trust those responsible will see that it does not occur again. I apologise, Sir, for taking up your valuable space but thank you for making this public. I am, etc., “FAIR GO.”
