The second round must be completed on Saturday and in the case of unplayed matches the defaulting player must forfeit. Conditions in regard to the playing of this competition have been placed on the notice board and members are requested to make themselves conversant with these before commencing their matches. Members eliminated ni the first round are asked to arrange their own partners for a bogey competition.

LADIES’ MATCH. WHAREMOUKOU v. RIVERSIDE. Im a return match played on Tuesday at the Wharemoukou links lady members of the Wharemoukou Golf Club defeated lady members of the Riverside club 6 up. A cormorant bearing a ring inscribed “Witherby, High Holborn, London,” was caught last month by fishermen off Roscoff, Brittany. Mr. D. J. McGowan was unanimously elected chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board at the annual meeting Last night. Mr. McGowan has been a member for the past 13 years. It was decided to restore the remaining balance of the 10 per cent, cut to the permanent staff and the regular casual employees. The restoration will be retrospective to April 1..
