Masterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:— Barograph, 30.04; shade temperature, maximum, 50; minimum, 42; terrestrial, 35; sunshine, 45 minutes; rain, 4 point. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—There is no appreciable change in the meteorological situation; an anti-cyclone still extends from Eastern Australia on to New Zealand while pressure is rather low to the north and east. Forecast: Winds light and variable south of Nelson and Marlborough, elsewhere southerly to south-easterly prevailing, strong at places north of Kawhia and East Cape but otherwise light to moderate. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts but further scattered rains likely in the far northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island, cold night temperatures with sharp frosts.
