SHOPS & OFFICES BILL.
SEVERAL AMENDMENTS LIKELY. (By Telegraph—“ The Age’’ Special.) WELLINGTON, May 26. An indication that several amendments might be expected to the Shops and Offices Amendment Bill was given by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, in the House of Representatives to-night. Mr. Armstrong said that possibly some amendment could be made with the object of giving relief to solicitors whose offices were within the scope of the Bill. It was also intended to bring private hotels and boardinghouses, where th© number of boarders was five, under th© legislation and an amendment would also be made deleting from the overtime provisions of employees whosft wages were more than £3OO per year.
