WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows for the 24 hoars ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.38; shade temperature, maximum 54.6, minimum 43.6; terrestrial, 39.4; sunshine 5 hours; rain, 2J points. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An anti-cyclone extends from South-Eastern Australia on to the South Island but the pressure has remained low to the north and east of the Dominion. Forecast: Winds easterly strong to gale in the far north, elsewhere southerly to south-easterly prevailing, moderate to strong about and north of Cook Strait, light to moderate over the South Island. Weather: For the most part fair to fine with cold temperatures, changeable and unsettled, however, in the northern and eastern districts of the North Island, with scattered rain and some heavy falls in the extreme northern and north-eastern parts.
