TE WHABAU. (“The Age” Special.) The stroke competition on Saturday was won by W. Kummer with a net score of 57, while Miss Buckeridge won the ladies with a net score of 54. The following is the draw for next Saturday:—Men: N. Kummer v. Foreman; W. Kummer v. Paku; Gray v. Vennell; Nitz v. P. Kummer; J. Bannister v. R. McKinstry; A. McGregor v. R. Bannister; Cotter v. F. McKinstry; B. Schofield v. another. Ladies: Mrs. Schofield v. Vennell; Miss Taylor v. Miss Buckeringe; Miss M. Taylor v. Mrs. R. Bannister; Mrs. Foreman v. Mrs. P’. Kummer; Mrs. J. Bannister v. Mrs. Cobb; Miss Lucas v. Miss McKinstry; Mrs. McKinstry v. Mrs. Douglas; Mrs. Read v. another. The following will represent the club in a cup match against Homewood at Homewood during the week-end: —- Messrs N. Kummer, W. Kummer, H. Paku, N. Foreman, R. Bannister, J. Bannister, S. Gray, E. Nitz, C. Schofield, I. McGregor, P. Kummer. Mrs. Schofield, Miss Taylor, Mrs. Read, Miss M. Taylor, Mrs. Foreman, Miss Lucas, Mrs. J. Bannister. The team is to assemble at the river promptly at 9 a.m., as the match is timed to commence at 10 a.m. Any player unable to make the trip is requested to notify the club captain immediately. A very enjoyable dance was held in the hall on Saturday evening, there, being a large gathering. A good programme, including novelty dances was much enjoyed by all. The music was supplied by local artists and the thanks of the club are due to them and also to the donors of prizes for the novelty dances.

PIRINOA. (“The Age” Special.) The weather was ideal for the first of the home and home matches between the Pirinoa and Martinborough Golf clubs, which was played at Pirinoa on Saturday. Both teams were not at their full strength, several notable players from each side being absent. The singles’ match finished even, while the fourball matches were won by the home team by a margin of two games. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies. Following were the results (Pirinoa players mentioned first in every case): Singles.—D. Jones lost to Perry; G. Munro lost to D. Ward; D. Mclntosh beat S. Martin; D. Tikao lost to J. Martin; R. Hume lost to J. Pike; H. Carter beat G. Stunnell; J. Carter beat J. D. McDougall; S. Hall lost to C. Sievers; R. McDougall beat H. Biss; M. McLeod lost to C. Moore; N. Waiwera beat Evans; H. Walker beat Haycock. Fourball.—D. Jones and G. Munro lost to Perry and Ward; D. Tikao and McIntosh beat S. and J. Martin; R. Hume and H. Carter beat J. Pike and G. Stunnell; J. Carter and S. Hall lost to J. McDougall and Sievers; R. McDougall and McLeod beat Moore and Biss; M. Waiwera and Walker beat Haycock and Evans.
