TE WHABAU. (“The Age” Special.) The stroke competition on Saturday was won by W. Kummer with a net score of 57, while Miss Buckeridge won the ladies with a net score of 54. The team is to assemble at the river promptly at 9 a.m., as the match is timed to commence at 10 a.m. Any player unable to make the trip is requested to notify the club captain immediately. A very enjoyable dance was held in the hall on Saturday evening, there, being a large gathering. A good programme, including novelty dances was much enjoyed by all. The music was supplied by local artists and the thanks of the club are due to them and also to the donors of prizes for the novelty dances.

PIRINOA. (“The Age” Special.) The weather was ideal for the first of the home and home matches between the Pirinoa and Martinborough Golf clubs, which was played at Pirinoa on Saturday. Both teams were not at their full strength, several notable players from each side being absent. The singles’ match finished even, while the fourball matches were won by the home team by a margin of two games. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies.
