JERSEY WEEK.
DISPERSAL OF IVONDALE STUD. GOOD PRICES EVIDENT. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 25. Taranaki Jersey Week, during which a series of important sales will be held, opened successfully to-day with the dispersal of P‘. J. Petersen’s Ivondalc stud. An improved tone was evident and it seems probable that the series will be the best for several years. A hundred and one choice Jerseys were submitted and 84 were sold under the hammer for a total 1881 guineas, an average of 224 guineas. Top price, 108 guineas, was realised for an eight-year-old cow, Ivondale Tiny Heather, the purchaser being Basil Mitchell, of Longburn. Other good prices were 974gn5., 90gns., 78 gns., and 72gns. and three others over 50gns. The world champion cow, Woodlands Felicie, now aged, was submitted. The bids reached 51 guineas but no sale was made.—'(P.A.)
