MR. BALDWIN ADDRESSES PRIVATE MEMBERS. APPEAL FOB LOYAL SUPPORT. BRITAIN AS A SAFEGUARD OF PEACE. [(Received Friday, 7.39 p.m.) LONDON, May 21. Mr. Baldwin spoke for forty-five minutes at a private dinner of back benchers. Great interest was shown on account of rumours of Cabinet reconstruction and suggestions that the Government has been weakened by recent events. Mr. Baldwin said he hoped members of the House of Commons would realise that though the Government’s majority was large, its force and vigour could only be maintained by constant loyalty. He declared that a strong Britain was the greatest safeguard of peace in Europe.
