THE STRATOSPHERE.

PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN FLIGHT. DURING COMING SUMMER NOTED SCIENTISTS INTERESTED. (Received Friday, 9.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 22. The Australian Associated Press learns that a group of well-known scientists will shortly approach the Commonwealth Government with the idea, if possible, of arranging for an Australian stratosphere flight during the next Australian summer. Three men who may be most closely interested are Dr. Jean Picard, Professor August Picard and Professor W. F. G. Swann, Director of the Bartol Research Foundation and a noted British American physicist. Particular attention would be given to cosmic ray study, on which Professor Swann is one of the world's greatest authorities. Another interesting feature of the Australian flight is that it is contemplated that Mrs Jean Picard should accompany her husband, or he may be accompanied by his brother August.
