many buildings damaged IN PERTH. RIVER CRAFT WRENCHED FROM MOORINGS. two-storey structure BLOWN TO PIECES. Perth, May 22. A violent storm swept the southern part of the State. Many buildings in Perth were damaged, and scores of river craft, wrenched from their moorings and piled up along the foreshore, ine wind reached a velocity of 56 miles an hour, and rain fell in torrents. Broken electric light and power cables held up tram traflic. Panic reigned in a two-storey building at Guildford, which was almost demolished by a willy-willy. The roof was carried off and blown into the street 150 feet from the building, the 15-ineh walls of which collapsed.
