Masterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows, for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.53; shade temperature, maximum 62.6, minimum 31.4; terrestrial, 23.2; sunshine, € hours 54 minutes; frost, 7.2 degrees. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kittson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An anti-cyclone extends across the North Island but a westerly depression is advancing over the South Tiasman Sea and a slight depression is also located west of Norfolk Island. Forecast: Winds, northerly winds, strong about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate but increasing generally. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts with mild and in eastern areas warm temperatures, cloudy to overcast, however, with further scattered ra’in in the western and far southern parts of the South Island and later unsettled conditions extending to most districts with a westerly aspect and also to the far north.
