Mr. Raymond T. Ball, advance representative for the “Long Tack Sam” vaudeville company, arrived in Masterton yesterday to make arrangements for their season at the Regent Theatre.
The death of Sir Ben Greet, the ac-tor-manager, is reported in a, cablegram from London. He was the pioneer of the Pastoral Play, 1886, acted by professional actors and for many years produced Shakespeare plays in the open air as well as in theatres in London and the provinces. He was active, shortly after the war, in a movement which led to Shakespeare plays being produced in every part of Lon' don and its suburbs before attendances of over one million school children.
