The Masterton Racing Pigeon Club flew the last two races of the Young Bird season recently.

The result of the’race from National Park was: J, Wicken’s Phar Lap 1102 yds. per min., 1; W. J. Miller’s Bonny Glen, 1088 yds. per min., 2; W. Steer’s Silver Ring, 1086 yds. per min., 3; V. H. Stear’s Ace of Spades, 1071 yds. per min., 4; A. Miller’s Starling, 1067 yds. per min., 5.

The last race was a relay, each member sending one bird only to each race point, Hunterville, 80 miles, Ohakune 108 miles, and National Park, 124 miles airline distances, and the aver age velocity recorded. The results were: W. J. Miller’s team 1; A. Miller’s team 2; J. Wickens’s team 3. Advice was received from the federation headquarters at Wanganui, that J. Wiekens had filled second place in the recent National race for the Malcomson Cup.

The winner of the Cup for most points scored in the Young Bird season Y ' J - Miller, the runner-up being A. Miller. Cups, trophies and certificates were presented by the president Mr. F. Harding, at a meeting held last Saturday night, the attendance being disappointing, only thirty-seven members being present. It was decided to hold the annual genera! meeting on Saturday, August 1.
