Brown re* ported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—'Barograph, 30.57; shade temperature, maximum, 65.4; minimum, 29; terrestrial, '21.4; sunshine, 8 hours 53 minutes; frost, 9 degrees. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—Pressure has remained high generally but a narrow belt of relatively low pressure lies to the west of the Dominion. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable north-easterly to northerly predominating. Weather: Still mainly fair to cloudy but misty or foggy at places and some scattered light rains probable in the South Island; temperatures mild.
