Mr. Ray Treherrie, Wellington, was placed third in the men’s sacred solo contest the Ballarat Competitions, reports a cablegram.
At a meeting of the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board last night a motion of condolence was passed with Mr. Thomas Forsyth, late chairman of the Wellingtonrgducation Board, in .the
loss of hie wife. It was decided to send a letter expressing the board’s sympathy.
Miss P. Mackay, who is leaving Masterton to reside in Sydney, was tendered a farewell afternoon by a number of her girl friends at the home of Miss W. Young, Hessey Street, Competitions were won by Mis* Mackay and Miss B. Welch. On behalf of those present Miss Mackay was presented .with a- travelling doqk, after which afternoon.tea was served.
