Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.25; shade temperature, maximum 70.2, minimum 45.2; terrestrial, 33; sunshine 9 hours 0 minutes.

Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—A series of westerly depressions continues to cross the South Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand while an anti-cyclone covers the North Tasman and extends on to the North Island. Forecast: Winds variable in North Auckland, otherwise moderate to strong north-westerly to westerly prevailing, of gale force at many places south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, backing in parts to south-westerly. Weather: Mainly fair in the northern half of the North Island and also in eastern coastal areas, changeable and squally south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, with scattered rain, more especially in the western and far southern districts of the South Island; temperatures warm in eastern districts.
