INJURED ALL BLACKS.
MR. MEREDITH PERTURBED. TEMPORARY LOSS OF KEY, PLAYERS. LONDON, September 30. Owing to many injured players the manager of the New Zealand Rugby team (Mr. V. R. Meredith) fears that he will be unable to announce the side to play against Gloucester until the day of the match. He is perturbed by the loss of key players such as Oliver, Page, and Hadley. There are five casualties, ineluding the latest, Collins, who has a bruised leg, and: has gone to Newport for treatment. Another reshuffle of the back line is expected on Thursday. The “Manchester Guardian,” in an editorial, says: “The game against Swansea showed that a first-rate club side, accustomed to individual ways, can at its best be more formidable than the best concentration of international talent. It will be well worth watching if any international sides can lower the All Blacks’ colours as successfully as Swansea.”
