Y.M.C.A. HELPERS.
LADIES’ MEETING. The president, Mrs M. G. Mac Kay, presided at yesterday’s meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies* Auxiliary. There was a good attendance of members. Communications were received from the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Soldiers’ Memorial Y.M.C.A. in 'the Hutt Valley in connection with the Queen Carnival being held there. Assistance was sought to help in fhe Carnival effort and this was gladly given. It was learned that the Auxiliary’s Queen had topped the poll and that the effort had been a great success. The local auxiliary also planned another Bridge afternoon to be held on Tuesday next, August 13, at 2.15 p.m. Arrangements were completed inglyIt was proposed to hold a children’s Fancy Dress Party during the coming holidays, Friday, August 30, being the date agreed upon. The Party would cater for children of all ages. Younger ones being provided for in the Social Hall of the Association and the older ones in the Gymnasium. The Party is to commence at 7 p.m.
