PLAY IN LADIES’ CONTEST. SEMI-FINALS REACHED. LONDON, May 29. While playing in the third round of the British women’s golf championship yesterday, Miss Olarrie Tiernan, the Irish girl who defeated Miss Diana Fishwick, was handicapped by a badlyblistered hand. She was beaten by Miss Mervyn Barton, the 19-year-old sister of Miss Pam Barton. The last eight players, apart from the Scottish player, Miss Doris Park, are all in l their teens or early twenties. Results of the semi-finals are:—Miss Wanda Morgan defeated Miss Jessie Anderson, 2 and 1. Miss Pam Barton defeated her sister, Miss Mervyn Barton, 2 and 1. THE BARTON SISTERS. LONDON, May 29. Miss Pamela Barton reached the final of the women’s golf championship for the second year in succession. She was 5 up with 6 to play against her sister, Miss Mervyn Barton, but Mervyn won the next four holes be-" fore burying her ball in a bunker.
