FRENCH AIR FORCE.
BIGGER & BETTER THAN GERMANY’S. ACCORDING TO RADICAL WEEKLY. SOME PARTICULARS OF MEN & MACHINES. . PARIS, May 5. The French Air Force is stronger numerically and better trained than the German. Also it is equally modern, according to an article in the radical weekly ‘‘Notre Temps.” France r s aerial man power, it states, is 36,060, and her aerodromes total 160, being superior in number and quality to the German. France in 1936 will possess 1000' new bombing and fighting aeroplanes, some of which will have a speed of 250 m.p.h. and others 235 m.p.h., with a range of 1250 miles. In addition there are 150 new liaison aeroplanes, besides several thousand- older machines, and 200 commercial and 700 private aeroplanes mobilisable for miHitary purposes. Germany does not possess private aeroplane, but has more commercial machines.
RUSSIAN FIGURES. STALIN’S ANSWER TO HITLER, LONDON, May 5. I Moscow Pless reports state that over 3000 aeroplanes and 3000 tanks participated in the "May Day” celebrations throughout Russia. The largest estimate of the number of Soviet aeroplanes hitherto was I'soo. The ‘ ‘Sunday Times ’ ’ comments that this is Ms Stalin’s answer to Herr Hitler with a vengeance;
