COMMEMORATION MEDALS.
PRESENTATIONS TO MILITARY RECIPIENTS. CEREMONIES IN MASTERTON YESTERDAY. There was a full muster of ex-Service men, Territorials and Wairarapa High School Cadets at the Soldiers' Club yesterday morning, when the King’s Silver Jubilee Medal was presented to Sergt.Major C. E. Rogers. The Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. and Mrs. T. Jordan) attended the ceremony. Colonel R. A. Row, D. 5.0., made the presentation. Captain J. W. Bird was in command of the combined parade and other officers present were Major J. H. Irving, Lieutenants I. Hart, J. Conly and H. P. Glen. Mr. A. H. W. Evenden was in charge of the parade of returned soldiers. Colonel Row said that his task that day gave him great pleasure. They all knew Sergeant-Major Rogers better probably than he did, and he was quite sure they would agree with him that the medal had been earned. (Hearty applause.) Another medal presentation ceremony took place at the public gathering in the Regent Theatre yesterday. The Mayor (Mr. T. Jordan) who presided, called upon Colonel Row to Invest Major J. H. Irving with the King's Silver Jubilee Medal. The medal having been pinned on Major Irving’s breast, Mr. Jordan called for three cheers for a very fine soldier and the cheers were given with a will.
