THE RUGBY SEASON

FEATHERSTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Featherston Football Club was held on Thursday night. There was a large attendance of members. Mr. C. Scott was in the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. W. R. Johnston; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Tilley; auditor, Mr, H. Rolls; managehnent committee, Messrs C. Scott, F. B. Brough, W. H. Cundy; delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs W. E. Johnston, J. Varnham, L. Tilley; delegates to Sports Body, Messrs A. Tait and J. Moriarty; team coaches, senior, Mr. F. B. Brough; junior, Mr. F. Yule; fourth grade, Mr. W. Robinson. The subscriptions were fixed as follow:—Senior, ss; junior, 2s fid; third and fourth grade, Is; honorary members, 2s Cd. It was decided by a large majority that the club play senior, junior and fourth grade teams. It was agreed that any player who refused to play in his allotted grade by this club would be reported to the Rugby Union. The delegates to the Rugby Union were instructed to vote against the continuance of the Junior Advisory Board. It was derided to hold a sports meeting on Saturday, April 27. Hearty appreciation of the services of the retiring secretary, Mr. G. Julian, was carried by acclamation. He was voted an honorarium of £2 2s for his services.
