The Middle West, which has been in the grip of continuous dust storms since the beginning of the week, to-day finds its situation exceptionally serious, as a repetition of last year’s drought is threaten* ed. The dust storm area to-day extended from Texas to Dakata and from Oklahoma to Hlinois. Hun- , dreds of thousands of acres of fine wheat lands are being all but denuded and other areas are being covered with a plant-stifling layer of dust.
