AT NAPIER. REMANDED UNTIL APRIL 11. NAPIEB, March 21. Charles William Price, alias Edwards, indicted on a charge of murdering Evelyn Mary Madden at Waipawa, early in February, appeared before Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., at the Napier Police Court this morning and was further remanded until April 11. Mr. 8. Averill, counsel for Price, agreed to the request for a remand which was granted. A crowd of about qOO, mostly men, gathered outside the Napier Courthouse and waited for the appearance of Price and his escort from the direction of the Police Station. The accused, however, was taken to the Courthouse early and entered by a side door. He was also escorted away from the Courthouse through the back entranee. As a result the great majority of the public was still waiting for his appearance when the case had been dealt with and the accused was half way back to the Police Station.—(P.A.)
