MASTERTON HARRIERS.

BUSINESS AT THE ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Masterton Harrier Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last night. Mr. J. Hunter occupied the chair. The annual report (already published) and the balance sheet, which showed a credit of over £7 for the year, were adopted. It was decided that the committee be instructed to write to various harrier clubs who were likely to support a protest against the Lyall Bay course being set for the Wellington Provincial 'championships. A set of rules is to be drawn up to be submitted to a general meeting at a later date. It was decided to hold the official opening on Saturday, April 27 and the first preliminary run on March 30. Donations of one guinea to the Masterton Municipal Band, and £5 to tfie Harrier Trust Board were made. Attendance certificates were awarded to Messrs J. Baikie, I. Shaw, J. Liddall, J. Mackay, J. R. Wink and A. Spicer. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. Geo. Shaw; president, Mr. J. D. Cameron; secretary, Mr. J. Wink; treasurer, Mr. A. Kennedy; hon. auditor, Mr. R. Gully; club captain, Mr. L. E. Hack; vice-captain, Mr. R. N. Shaw; hon. handicapper, Mr. W. Pointon; social secretary, Mr. C. K. Long; hon. surgeon, Dr. J. C. Forsyth; trail layers, Messrs J. J. Hunter, J. Kitchener; press reporters, Messrs J. H. Haise and H. Spiers; keeper of Cameron Cup points, Mr. J. Baikie; joint coaches, Messrs L. A. Keats and J. Bradbury; committee, Messrs W. Pointon, R. Shaw and L. A. Keats, together with the chib captain, secretary and treasurer; delegates to the Wairarapa Sub-Centre, the club captain and secretary; delegates to the Wellington Sub-Centre, Messrs T. A. Lowis and C. A. Willis. ’ Four new members were elected.
